Biography of A. Morehead
From Madison Democrat 50th Anniversary
Published by the Madison Democrat, 1908
 |
This gentleman is a native of Perry county, but he is undoubtedly the most remarkable man in Madison county. He has resided with Mr. W. D. Chenoweth for 22 years, as helper in the farm work. He has not shaved since 1870. His beard is now eight and a half feet long, and, as shown in the picture, is the most luxuriant hirsute adornment possessed by any man or woman in the world.
|
Mr. Morehead has refused princely salaries from circus managers. He prefers the meadows and music of Deer Creek to the big tent, and the blare of a hundred bands.
